Heuer 76 Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 (edited) I have been trying to play 'Ghost in the Shell' which has embedded English sub titles but I can't get them to display in either Emby for WMC, Emby Theatre, Emby Android, Emby TV or the web browser. In the Android and TV apps I can select the sub title stream but it then kicks me back to the film page (Android) or hangs with a rotating circle (TV). Emby is showing the 'subtitle eng' logo before starting the movie but nothing appears. Mediainfo shows the subs as being there, Kodi displays the subs without problem, MPC-HC and VLC display the subs when running stand alone. I am also using MPC-HC as the external player for WMC but the subs will not display but, oddly, do if I use the application directly. I have tried various configurations, checked the LAV filters and even downloaded a .srt file to see if an external sub will work to no avail (it does in Kodi though). Can't begin to think which log file will be needed. Any suggestions as to server or application settings to get this to work? Update: I can get Emby for WMC to display the subs with MPC-HC as the external player and a .srt file. Ditto in the wen browser. Edited June 1, 2015 by Heuer
Luke 42079 Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 ok, let's start with the web interface. please see http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/790-how-to-report-a-problem/
Heuer 76 Posted June 1, 2015 Author Posted June 1, 2015 OK. Started playback, switched on subtitles, switched off: Nothing showing. External subs as .srt file will show thoughserver-63568756264.txt
Luke 42079 Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 the extraction was just taking a long time. we'll look at improving that soon.
ABNParatrooper 6 Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I am having subtitle issues as well. I am on the most current version of server and mbt. mkv are not showing subs and some mp4 and avi shows subs while some are not. I have been trying to find some commonality to determine what triggers the subs to show vs what does not. I don't have any codecs installed other than what is part of vlc and mpc-hc which I am using as external players so that I can see the subs until I get this resolved. Should I install any codecs like klite or shark007? I thought maybe it was becuase I had manually dowloaded the subs, so I deleted those and allowed the server to redownload them, still no joy. I welcome all tips and suggestions.
ABNParatrooper 6 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 MBT most current stable version, I don't do dev versions. some mp4 and avi play no mkv plays at all
