Hate This: Love This: And I can't stand this stupid pop up window that does pretty much what can be doen by hovering over the poster: OK, I get that Emby is trying to add some new features and continue to grow, but these, along with that new OSD display I addressed in another post, have taken it in the wrong direction, I think At the very least can we PLEASE have options? I understand some people may like these new features and I would never expect to enjoy every single thing that was changed because Emby has to fit the needs of a wide audience, but giving us the OPTION to select to go back to old settings would actually be an awesome feature... I would love to see a selection to view card view or the older poster-only view and that for that silly pop-up thing..well that seems redundant to me. It's driving me insane right now and I can't wait to find some way to turn that thing off... Thanks guys and keep up with the great product. Edited May 31, 2015 by diaz1510

Man I am really getting irritated at all these changes they did without there really being a need for it and it seems like most people aren't big fans of alot of the UI changes they recently made... Oh I really hope they go back to the old version with some of this stuff.....

Removes the footer, reduces spacing, and it's almost like the previous was. The annoying "fly out" pop up is another story. It's not respecting the "enable item previews" when told "NO"..TV-Shows still suffer from an appearance. Why can't there be a clear and obvious way to disable this thing once and for all? I mean, having an option to tell it NO and still seeing it means it's obviously broken. Is this going to be addressed? Edited June 1, 2015 by speechles 1

speechles 2055 Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 (edited) Thats just it. The different look is obviously unappealing, unnecessary, and jarring. If it wasn't, threads such as this wouldnt exist. They expose an underlying issue with the new UI. Why isnt it wise enough to avoid this (read as, allowing us) by the use of "split vs merged" episodes? Split, would not combine episodes under a series, they would remain as episodes individually. Yes, this means latest may not hold everything. This is fine. It is more attractive this way, by avoiding the redundant popup when all you want to do is watch an episode. For those loving the popup, allow them to use the grouped view for latest TV and both types of people can be happy. Here is the missing setting to correct the fly out in regards to TV: Should latest TV episodes be grouped under series name, or left individual? (Note: grouped uses item previews, individual does not) [ Grouped ] [ Individual ] This seems the most logical approach with the quickest resolution for us all. Edited June 1, 2015 by speechles

When there's multiple episodes of the same show under Latest - clicking the poster should navigate directly to detail view of the oldest unplayed episode of that series. I think some of the developers should be given some slack though, I'm sure its easy to write something in a forum and a lot harder to make it work that way. Creative criticism is good but I don't think we should be airing our frustrations here like we paid a ridiculous amount of money for commercial grade software and a support contract that's not being honoured. The fact you get to voice your opinion to the actual developers who seem to listen and respond to all posts should be looked at as a privilege and no one is forcing you to update the server, go back to the version you liked better if you want its your choice. P.S. I am not part of the developer team, have been a long time fan and supporter though as this is the best software of this type and they simply ask to contribute if you can for the server and only charge for device apps. 2

I totally agree. Im really hoping my ranting didnt appear that I am expecting too much. Im no programmer, just a lowly end user so I make no delusions about the amount of work it takes to program this while still offering a free product. I actually love Emby and am grateful for the work the developers put into it...Im jut frustrated at some of the new features and if we dont voice our opinion from time to time we woulf actually be doin the develpers a disservice I think. I understand that I will not always like all the changes made during upgrades as this is supposed to reach a wide audience...but options would be nice. But I concede that I have no idea how difficult it is to program options like that... As for rolling back to an older server version...I have been trying to figure that out but dont know where I can get a copy of the previous version that worked the way I enjoyed it. Can you provide any help there for me? 1

I like the new popups in the movie and TV pages just fine. They make playing without reloading a page that can be a bit slow to load a bit easier than it was. Make it optional if they like but I'm not having problems with that function.

Make it optional if they like but I'm not having problems with that function. the hover over overlay and/or the tap and hold menu are both quicker ways to play media than the new pop up which requires a few more clicks to start playing your media...and does not load more data to display Edited June 1, 2015 by Vidman

You've been able to turn off card view for months. In fact, it is an option that has to be turned on normally. Just click on the filter menu in the web client and switch from Poster Card to Poster. If it doesn't go away, it is a bug in your version. If it is a bug, it will be fixed.
