whitman27 1 Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 I am watching a movie that has forced subs and just noticed that some of them Are being cut off at the bottom. The movie I am watching had black bars above and below and for some reason looks like anything g that would have been in the black bar area below is cut off. Is there away to adjust them or have them up front? When I play the movie outside of Emby they show up fine. Will post screen shots in a sec Whit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

whitman27 1 Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 Why are the subtitles at a different level in WMP then in Emby? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Luke 42077 Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 did the dpi setting not work? they're different because it's two different players, two different renderers.
whitman27 1 Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 Dpi was already set to 100% in Windows 8 which is considered Small. So I take it above 100%? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

whitman27 1 Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 Also tested it in the Windows 8.1 App and the subtitles show up perfectly. So this seems to be only happening in Theater. Hope that helps.
Walter 10 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) There have been a few issues with subtitles. Not sure exactly what the problem going on is though. I have had issues with the entire video not playing or if I load them after it starts playing and have the issue you are having. I am sure they are trying to track down the issue. AM S1 1 Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Thanks Luke, Let me know what you need from me and I will see what I can do Whit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk hello!! I have exact same problem with emby theather last version in my lap
Tolerant 74 Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 If you change the renderer from the default to MadVR it will work with subtitles fine, however MadVR does use a bit more processing power imo. It would be nice if there was a bigger selection of renderers to choose from because the default one looks grainy to me and the only way to get it to look good / normal was MadVR but I have no use for the bells and whistles it offers since I don't have a huge TV or 4k resolution etc.
The Baron 64 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) I suspect that I had the same issue. I found that I could see the subtitles of the particular film/TV show that was having issue by changing the Render mode from EVR to EVR+ or vice virca, in the Video section of settings. Restart Theater for the changes to take effect and you should be able to see the subtitles that were not being displayed properly or not at all. Now, I am not at my system, so bare with me, but as a test, if you change the display mode from 'Touch Inside' (which will insure that the left/right borders of the image touch the sides of the screen) to 'Touch Outside'. Touch Outside will insure that the top/bottom borders touch the edge. If I got the terms the wrong way around my apologies. Anyway, with the top/bottom borders touching the edge of the screen, you will always see the subs, at least that is what I found, no matter what video is playing, if there was subtitle display problems or not... but that is not the long term solution, me thinks, unless you like that setting or you don't mind switching from EVR to EVR+ or vice virca when the situation requires it. To fix the issue, I performed a clean uninstall and reinstall of Theater... However, you also need to remove any instance of the codex that is being used by Theater, so uninstall any preexisting codex and let Theater install a new clean version of itself and the codex it uses. After that, I did not notice any issues with subtitles any more. Edited July 1, 2015 by The Baron
