wolf359 6 Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Hi I have just updated my motherboard etc and installed the server and MBT on the same machine. All was running fine for a couple of days as normal. Today MBT wont log in I get after 10 seconds or so the please log in screen I dont know what username I should be using or password. Also the web client works as it should and I can see all my films but want to use MBT. I did have this problem before many months ago and last time I just reinstalled an image of the disc when it was working. I have done that again but this time not fixed the problem. How does MBT connect to the server if its on the same machine can I manually get it to look at the server ?
dirkdigs 10 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I have installed MBT on the same PC as MBS. I cant login . I know the credentials work. i do not see anywhere to specify a server name and /or port number. Help
Luke 42077 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 if you don't see change server on the login screen, try installing the latest version from the website.
dirkdigs 10 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 (edited) i just downloaded and installed it today. says version 3.0 Edited May 21, 2015 by dirkdigs
Luke 42077 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 what screen are you taken to when you open the app? can you describe in more detail?
Luke 42077 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 ok, so it found your server. it's not an issue of changing server, it's an issue of logging in. double check the password you're entering. you might want to try changing or resetting the password on the server
dirkdigs 10 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 i created a brand new user, clicked sign in and got "Unable to connect to the remote server"
Luke 42077 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 interesting. can you grab the mbt log? http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/790-how-to-report-a-problem/ thanks.
dirkdigs 10 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 here you go. MediaBrowser-InstallLogs.zip server-63567824091.zip
dirkdigs 10 Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 where do i find the MBT log? the link provided mentions nothing about MBT logs.
ebr 16170 Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Right along side the other ones: %appdata%\MediaBrowser-Theater\logs
Lawrage 13 Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Hey wolf359, So you have done a fresh install of the OS (Windows I assume?) and then done a fresh install of Emby Theatre? When you launch the application what options do you see on the screen?
wolf359 6 Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 I didnt have any options just launched mbt and instead of it going to my user screen it came up with that log on screen. I have now sorted it out all I did was to uninstall mbt completely and reboot the computer then install mbt again. That sorted it out so I will see how long it lasts this time
wolf359 6 Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Try uninstalling mbt and installing it fresh
sprtfan 3 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Looks like I'm having the same problem. I get to the same screen that dirkdigs posted. I uninstalled and reinstalled and ended up getting the same results. I normally don't use Emby Theater but it worked last time I did and wanted to confirm that others maybe having a similar problem to dirkdigs.
g_phill 2 Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 I am also experiencing this problem. I reinstalled Emby Theater which did not resolve the issue. I can play via the web client

I can play via the web client Just figured out my issue... My Emby Servers IP had changed and Emby Theater hadn't picked up new address. I manually edited %AppData%\Roaming\Emby-Theater\config\servers.json and changed to new Emby Server IP and Emby Theater worked fine after that.

Is this internal inside your network, or away from home?
g_phill 2 Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Interesting. Is this internal inside your network, or away from home? this is internal network, client and server on same box
wolf359 6 Posted June 8, 2015 Author Posted June 8, 2015 My set up is the same server and client in same machine
Luke 42077 Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Thanks, I will take a look at this scenario. Can you provide some info - when you open the server dashboard and it displays your local address, is the value correct? thanks.
