the-dumb1 135 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Hi! Ubuntu 15.04 with Emby running. I added a password to the only account that I had been using, and for some reason, after adding the password, I couldn't log back in. So I clicked on "Forgot password" which gave me the instructions to enter the username if I could remember it. I did so and followed the directions--and Emby reported having removed the password to that account. Now, even after trying to use the account, I observe that I am able to see the Emby dashboard for a second, but am returned to the user login screen. Upon being returned to the login screen, I attempt to click on the account that I normally use to log in--only to see a prompt "invalid username or password." I am unable to log into Emby and am hoping I can get back to where I was before I enabled that stupid password!!!! Any ideas???
the-dumb1 135 Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 Ok, doing a little more Google-fu, I found that in deleting users.db and restarting the Emby service, that I was able to get back in without issue. Still don't know why the original problem happened. The original username was only two alpha characters long. Password was 8 alpha-numeric no special characters.
CBers 7450 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 If you connected via localhost:8096, you wouldn't need a password.
