I LOVE the new update. No more endless scrolling! Great job, Luke!

The issue will still be present in Chrome when we are using the custom animated scroller. In other browsers where we use the native scroller the issue will be fixed.

What makes me always wonder when testing Theater, why is live tv "Channels" under "Recordings"? (Doesn't make any sense)

It would be better suit to the homescreen:

As long as users that don't use LiveTV can avoid having another useless tile on the homescreen.

(The other useless tile is "Upcoming").

Is it just me, or when looking at the screenshots, are the icons really jarring when having images next to them? I find this especially out of place on the homescreen with only the one icon amongst all the nice fan art.

When in the guide in ET, if you grab the scroll bar with the mouse and move it, the time moves but the programs don't move until you let go of the bar. The video is only a few seconds and just over 1MB

In firefox it's that doesn't happen, it's nice and smooth. In Chrome, we're using the smooth scrolling api and it's still in experimental stages. Not much we can do but wait on that feature to develop. I'd rather not using the custom scroller on the guide.

Sure thing. I'll be patient. So when you make browser changes, they are applied to the Theater app?

Is pausing live tv intended to work, at this time? Because when I pause for more than a few seconds, it turns the tuner off and I have to re-initiate it.

ET

It's getting there. While overall development of ET has been slow, a lot of work has gone into it recently to make it a very viable product. I'm currently using it as my daily, and once I sort out my server issue, I think it will work great.

Thank you for your reply.

Is there any chance there could be an option to allow the use of third party codecs? The reason I ask is because LAV can't really do much with AAC soundtracks. I'd like to be able to use ffdshow to process AAC tracks, because it can convert 2 channel AAC to 5.1 AC3 on the fly. Many of my movies are two channel AAC, so this would be extremely helpful.

There's now a Remember Me option on the sign in screen. Enjoy.

Luke, have you been told how much we love you? Because we do.

I got a couple friends of mine to set up Emby. One got a lifetime subscription, the other switched from Plex.

Thanks, glad to hear it.

Added a TV guide fix - the guide will now refresh when you return to the screen after playback, or from any other screen if it needs to be refreshed.

I am also missing the maximize icon. You can still click it, it's just not visible. This is on Intel Graphics 4400.

Circles on the login screen - NO!

Please bring back the squares, or at least give us an option.

The circles look absolutely terrible:

Squares looks SO much better:

There is no way to scroll on the login screen using a mouse. The scrollwheel should be implemented here. Scrolling up moves you left. Scrolling down moves you right. Just like in the movie and series lists.

Where do the images used in the background on the login screen come from? I'd prefer just a blank background or if that isn't possible then I would like to use my own images.

There's currently no configuration for the backdrop images but i'd love for you to eventually be able to set your own.

Circles appear to be the new fashion to represent people, whilst squares represent apps. This convention is appearing in lots of ecosystems. I quite like it, but the option would be nice for traditionalists.

Luke,

Is there a possibility there will be a 'Latest' home screen section for the Trailers page?  Used to find that very useful in EWMC to easily see new stuff as it's released.  Might also jazz up that page a bit as it is currently just 4 squares.

Have been giving ET a proper run as a daily now and its getting there.  Still having issues with focus when switching from desktop to ET or waking ET from screensaver which is slightly annoying.

Music interface still needs some work from my perspective - mostly adding text labels for things.  Can't always tell the album or track from the album artwork.

I'd still like to be able to configure the home screens a little for my preferences, but I guess we'll get there.

Being able to switch TV channels would be nice. Still feeling like the Live TV stuff is a little under developed from a usability perspective, but its early days.

I'd like to be able to refresh a series or movie with a button press like I could in EWMC (rec button) and also set a item or folder a watched/unwatched via a button press as well.

The other thing I keep accidently doing and would like implemented would be the ability to start typing a name in a screen like all movies or all series and have the screen scroll to the matcing item, much like it did in EWMC.  Having to nav to the search button and then type the name is clunky.  The alphabet across the bottom is painful to use via a remote as well.

Can the scrolling have an option to wrap?  Can be useful to go back (left) from A to get to the end of the alphabet rather than scrolling through everything.

Anyway, these are just some suggestions.  Overall I am enjoying using ET.  Things I want or like might not be the same as others or fit with the developers image for the final product.  Excited to see what the final form is.

Cheers!
