Luke 42077 Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 yea the dev line has a lot of fixes and a lot of remote control features. we just have a few things to work through before pushing it up. 1
SikSlayer 249 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I haven't seen much progress here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/MediaBrowser.Theater/commits/master Am I looking in the wrong place?
aaRJay 2 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I found the log, and I found the issue. It's related to audio, since I cannot choose audio device in MBT it was set to wrong output. And trying to playback an AC3 audio to an audio device that doesn't support it resulted in this error. I've actually had this issue before, I had forgotten about it. Really hoping for option to choose audio device in MBT. Cannot play back the audio stream: the audio format is not supported. System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException at System.Windows.Forms.Control.MarshaledInvoke(Control caller, Delegate method, Object[] args, Boolean synchronous) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.Invoke(Delegate method, Object[] args) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.Invoke(Delegate method) at MediaBrowser.Theater.DirectShow.InternalDirectShowPlayer.InvokeOnPlayerThread(Action action) So how did you solve this problem? I have the same issue with some mkv files
KRA 39 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) I have to change default audio device whenever this happens. I have audio both on monitor and reciever connected. Edited June 15, 2014 by KRA
Scot 27 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Any chance we could know when MBT will support Live TV? Some time line? 2
aaRJay 2 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) I have to change default audio device whenever this happens. I have audio both on monitor and reciever connected. I have only HDMI out from my pc to the tv... how do I change defaults? Please help The movies play perfectly fine on the web client as well as on MB Classic... MBT is the only one not playing nice Edited June 19, 2014 by aaRJay
KRA 39 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Your TV maybe not support ac3 and dts sound and You must disable in lav config
Luke 42077 Posted June 24, 2014 Author Posted June 24, 2014 Some great things are coming: http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/blog/1/entry-75-media-browser-theater-preview-1-the-item-list/ 3
aaRJay 2 Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Your TV maybe not support ac3 and dts sound and You must disable in lav config But doesn't that mean that this behavior should be consistent across all clients? I can get the video and audio to work perfectly fine with MBC and on the web client. It is only on MBT that the problem occurs! (unless MBC/web client converts the ac3 audio stream to soemthing else)
swhitmore 781 Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Is there any chance that there is a way to update the main screen after watching something? I find that a lot of the time I'll have 3-4 episode of something to watch. I'll go to 'Next-Up' and hit the play button, because that's the fastest and easiest way to navigate to it. I'll watch the episode, but then when I want to watch the next one, I have to navigate the tab to something other than 'TV Shows' and navigate back again so that it is refreshed and the next episode is available. It would be fantastic if it refreshed itself after watching something. Thanks. 4
lorac 118 Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 What I do after watching a show is to navigate to 'home' and then you'll have a refreshed home screen. It would be nice to play the next episode w/o having to do those extra steps though.

Watch next is a great feature but having to go to another screen to get it to update is a real pain. 2
shaefurr 1340 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 I third that, would seem more live if it updated itself
njoak 23 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 I agree. Even the "old" 'press record button to update screen' feature would be useful. While at it, I think the update niggle exists on other (all?) screens as well - for example the watched status of TV episodes inside a season view (if an episode is watched and you go back to season view, that episode is not labeled as watched).
Jvtm 13 Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Is MBT still considered to be in alpha? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Luke 42077 Posted July 26, 2014 Author Posted July 26, 2014 it has a small feature set but what's there is pretty stable. yes it is still because it is undergoing a revamp. 2
A8HTPC 38 Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Im guessing it will be MBT 4. lol. how long away is that?
madfloyd 0 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 it has a small feature set but what's there is pretty stable. yes it is still because it is undergoing a revamp. It might be stable in that it doesn't crash, but it still can't playback video without dropping frames on many systems and is therefore not viable. I would love to see a little effort in that department.

I would love to see a little effort in that department. I use MBT with MadVR and get the best picture quality and playback of any client that I have tried including Mediaportal, Plex etc. Also having the stats on screen confirms zero dropped frames. I don't think any client can compare to the playback quality of MBT+MadVR MBT certainly has drawbacks, but I don't think picture quality is one of them.

You also need a reasonably strong gpu for madvr in mbt which does not have full screen exclusive mode due to the gui as of yet anyway, im just curious what graphics card you are using? I have spoke a few times to the guy who works on it and he has put in work, i have noticed improvements on my ati build. Edited July 29, 2014 by Ghostm

MB3 Classic + MPC-HC + MadVR works perfectly for me, but MBT can't keep up regardless of whatever settings I use. Zero difference if I employ MadVR or not. And I have a pretty zippy i7 Haswell box.
Luke 42077 Posted July 29, 2014 Author Posted July 29, 2014 yea i think gpu is the issue. it does struggle on some systems with an onboard gpu. also the default settings relating to HW acceleration may need to be adjusted for some.
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I've not had a problem with skipped frames in MBT. I use a discrete GPU though. Will not the latest, it works well enough for me. I have an Nvidia 450 GTS with 2GB of RAM.
