hifiaudio2 48 Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I have all of my movies on my Synology and the paths in Emby are all something like \\Diskstation\media\Movies or \\diskstation\media\TV Shows. My Emby server is on a Windows PC elsewhere on the wired Gigabit network. So by utilizing this path structure, does this ensure that all clients that can play directly pull the file directly from the Synology and play it, bypassing the Windows PC and any associated network traffic? So only files that need to be transcoded would go first over the network to the PC that has Emby server on it and then to the client?
