Content not auto-refreshing/updating

For a while now the web client is no longer auto-refreshing data using ajax.

 

For example, the scheduled tasks view would update as the progresses/status changed without me having to reload the page. Now it never changes and I have to keep refreshing to see if a task completed.

 

The same thing happens with the dashboard home and probably the whole site.

I am using Firefox developer edition (39.0a2) and I believe I had the same problem with the stable build of Firefox. It used to work but an update must have killed it. Is this a Firefox specific issue?

yes, other browsers are fine. haven't had a chance to look into it yet

What's odd is that it used to work. I normally only use Firefox but I just tried IE and it works. Also, I noticed the progress bars are different colors, blue in IE and green/orange (assuming - color blind) in Firefox.

IE is ignoring our style overrides and it's such a minute thing I lost the desire to hunt down the reason. with firefox, at some point there was an update and the socket stopped working. it connects them immediately disconnects.
