elsmandino 4 Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Hi, I have the following setup: A Windows 7 Server, running both Emby Server and Argus TV Server. 3 x Raspberry Pi's running Openelec with Argus TV and Emby add-ons. I have my server set up to watch the Argus TV recording folder so that new recordings are automatcially added to my video library (and added to "TV Series" or "Movies"). If I want to watch something quickly, I watch it via Argus but if I have a bit more time, I scan through the TV Series folder - the one problem with this is that the resume status seems independant for the two methods. Is there anyway that Argus and Emby can use a shared resume status? Thanks
xnappo 1611 Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Not really - you could try using the new auto organize feature in Emby server...
elsmandino 4 Posted May 14, 2015 Author Posted May 14, 2015 Thanks for that. I am definitely keen to have a look at auto organize but am a bit worried about using it without there being any entry for it in the wiki yet (I have masses of recordings that I could mess up if I get anything wrong). What exactly is it and how does it work? Also, how best could I use it in light of my query above? Thanks again for your help.
xnappo 1611 Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 (edited) I haven't used it myself yet My main concern is how it handles something that is currently recording. Does Argus use a separate directory until the recording is complete? If so, basically you would just have auto-organize monitoring your recordings folder. Then it would be moved into the Emby world automatically and you wouldn't have to worry about having recent recordings vs. organized recordings. I am still using a nightly script to organize my stuff, so I do have the same issue as you with watching stuff the same day it is recorded. xnappo [EDIT] Hmm - rereading your post maybe you are talking about watching the file within the Argus interface? If that is your question - just don't do that There is no way I can think of to sync from Argus to Emby. Edited May 14, 2015 by xnappo
elsmandino 4 Posted May 18, 2015 Author Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) Hi, Thanks for that - very good point, I think I will just use Argus for recording only and then Emby only for viewing the recording to choose what I want to watch (which is what it is for afterall). One think that I did notice was that I am unable to delete recordings from my server via Kodi - it lets me remove the file file from the library but when I then agree to remove the file from my server it show a red cross and says something about unauthorised removal - happens so quickly that I am barely able to read the error message. Do you happen to know who I can remedy this? Thanks again. Edited May 18, 2015 by elsmandino
Angelblue05 4132 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 @@elsmandino Is the user allowed to delete content on your Emby server?
elsmandino 4 Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 Hmm - that sounds like a setting that I have never come accross before so I reckon that it is quite possibly set to not allow it. Where may I find the setting to check?
