Wrong password or invalid name !!!

Hi all:

 

I get all the time the message saying : wrong name or invalid password " when I try to enter the server at :http://localhost:8096/web/login.html

 

I'm sure I have entered the right name and pass !!

I would also make sure your time is set right. I did a reinstall, and had the wrong time. When I installed the server I was getting that error. Fixed my time and log in worked.

Over the past few days, a friend of mine who I had helped installed Emby months prior had started getting multuiple login issues. Abobader did his best to help, and we came to a situation where he was able to log into his server again. I must note that nothing was done on his end, no settngs were changed, in fact, he hadn't been using it for about a month. The day before, he logged in, and indeed, Emby had been updating and restarting all by itself, to the then latest version.

 

Abobader did his best to help as I said, but what ended up happening is that we deleted the folders under \AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\config\users. This seemed to help.

 

Now suddenly, *I* am having the same issues. I KNOW I didn't change anything, nor add any new content (not that that would have done it.) I deleted the user folders as well (after making a back up of course), and I haven't changed my password. Emby won't allow me to login, and I don't know why. I can provide logs if you wish, but I'm not sure which to, so I'll attach the most recent one, after having deleted the user folders.

 

I did the forgot password thing, and it worked. but what I don't get is _what happened_. Why did I get locked out?
