Hi guys

I reported this problem about a week ago on the MBC forum. On start up MBC was requiring a PIN, it appeared the server was presenting a localhost IP address, restarting the server cleared the problem.

I've waited for my server to catch up with releases before reporting this.

I am still getting a PIN message when first starting MBC. stopping and then restarting MBC clears the problem.

The server machine is definitely on the network and has a valid IP address. It's not a start up problem as I get the problem whether the server has been up minutes or hours.

What log information do you want?

Try checking, deleting/resetting your server machines firewall rules. I get this a lot, drives me nuts, but I have cured it in the past by removing and recreating windows firewall rules. To be honest it happens often enough now that I just restart the server as it's quicker than resetting the firewall rules.

Is there a way to manually tell Emby Server which local IP to use and overide the automatic setting? Would/could this be a feature request? I think I read a post on here recently where a user had to disable his TV card before he could get into Emby Classic as it too had an IP address. I would guess there are some other users who have multiple local IP's for whatever reason and we all know there are plenty of people who have this localhost ip address issue as well. Would kill 2 birds with one stone ... or do I not know what I'm talking about? :P

You can configure MBC to connect to a specific server instead of trying to find it automatically.  Advanced tab of the config pages.

So you log out of Connect in the configuration in MBC, exit MBC. Start MBC and you are back to the PIN screen with two options; go input the PIN or hit cancel which exits from MBC. When you input the PIN, it connects fine until the next time the server wants to stop using the local IP and uses 127.0.0.1 again ... wash rinse repeat. When you manually set the IP address in MBC, again it only works until the server switches IP addresses, at which point I assume MBC (and other clients) then look to Connect, where you can manually enter the IP but have to do this everytime until the server is restarted. This isn't just limited to MBC. Android Mobile client does it too. If however I restart the server, it uses the local IP and clients can connect again.

Once you are logged in to MBC, bring up the switch user menu and select "Switch Server" at the bottom.  Then, on that screen, use the "Manual" button to enter the proper address of your server and connect to it.

Then go to the advanced page and configure MBC to always connect to that server.
