3.0.5597 "loading screen" Cheesy....

the new "loading" screen is kind of cheesy...  I like the spinning icon better...  Seemed more professional, intentional.      On my server the image only pops up for like a second, looks like something went wrong then the video starts...     Just my opinion.

In most other situations it will take longer because the video will take more time to buffer.

Let's avoid telling people to use hidden config settings. Instead, work with the interface and if the interface doesn't do what you need then lets' talk about that.

The images should only be created if the Administrator hasn't set a custom primary and/or thumb image via the Metadata. I think that is how most people would expect it to work. That is how the dynamic images seem to work in Collections. Chances are many new installations will end up keeping them as they are done nicely.

As for the loading screen, took me a while to understand what he was talking about. I only see it for a fraction of a second as well but I don't mind it one way or another. If the other apps pick it up, it will be better than staring at a black screen.

The problem is that location keeps changing or at least for "update users".  Depending on Views.

%appdata%/Mediabrowser-server/root/default

\imagebyname\views

and now

%appdata%/MediaBrowser-Server/data/metadata/views/"GUID"

Don't know the root cause or the logistics behind it. However as a administrator, if I override an image than I expect it to be used for all users. I shouldn't have to login and edit every single user to sync images. Have to think about how the customer will use the software to make great software. And even if it is open source, we're still customers. We have to pay for access to specific features.

I don't use dynamic images, they take to long to generate..  slow the interface down a bit..   So the hidden setting is OFF or default.

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same problem @@Luke  I was worried that this new "feature" would try to rotate cover art or something goofy.   Is that not the case?    I know after the upgrade the image hashes must have changed? because my front end had to re-cache everything.   If i misunderstood, what does this new feature actually do?  "beautiful dynamic images"

Hi, it creates images like below but it's a one time hit as far as I know. I haven't tried overriding them as I like them.

Cheers
