Is the Refresh broken in Version 3.0.5588.0

Recommended Posts

I had 6 new episodes overnight and have full metadata for 5, but synopsis (overview) missing for the 6th.

Still don't have full metadata for the older new episodes.

Sounds like my issue for movies.  I get all images for new movies, but with movies that were already in my library the fanart isn't downloaded on refresh/scan.  When I rerip a movie I've always just deleted the old folder and created a new movie folder with the reripped mkv file, done a refresh (or scan) and everything was okay.  Lately no fanart is created though and I get the error found in my logs posted earlier.

However, I found an easy way to trick it into redownloading the fanart and that is to place any image called fanart into the folder before scanning or refresh.  So it appears that it is now checking for an existing file first?

Steps to easily duplicate:

1. Delete all metadata/images in a movie folder leaving just the mkv/srt file

2. Choose any refresh/identify option (rescanning does the same also)

3. No backdrops are created

4. Place a dummy backdrop file into folder

5. Rescan now and all backdrops are created

Yeah I think the problem is back. Even with the dev. Build... It was working just fine and then I did it on a episode that was part of a locked show and I get the infinite spinning wheel.

My issue seems to have disappeared with the latest beta

Just moved the episode that had no synopsis out of my library, rescanne, shut Emby server, moved episode back, restarted Emby server and hey presto, the synopsis appeared!

I'm seeing similar issues. Been trying to do an advanced refresh of my entire TV folder structure as want to move from XML to NFO to be more compatible with XBMC. If I delete all the XML data and do an advanced refresh on the entire folder it never seems to finish (the spinning wheel that is). It does create the tvshow.nfo in each TV Series, but doesnt create the .nfo files per episode when within the Season subfolders.

If I delete the XML files and do a full library scan, it doesnt generate .nfos per episode

However, if I do an advance refresh on just one TV series, it does generate the .nfo files per episode in each subfolder for that series.

The problem is having to do that 220 times with all the series I have. Anyone got any ideas?

Thought I was on the latest version....but just noticed that a slighly newer one is out.

Version 3.0.5588.1

A new version of Emby Server is available!

Version 3.0.5597.1 is now available for download

Does anyone know if the issue I'm seeing is resolved in that build? I'll try it later this evening when I can get the kids off it!

Thanks Luke. Short answer to a long winded question....which I should have tried out first right! :-)

So build  3.0.5597.1 doesn't seem to have corrected the behaviour. Just updated and the only way I can get episode nfos to generate is by doing each series individually. Any ideas? I have Emby XML saver disabled, and NFO set as the default reader. I deleted XMLs in one series as a test, ran an Advanced Refresh of the entire TV series folder and it doesnt generate the nfo for the series with no metadata. Highlight the series itself and Advanced Refresh works within seconds.

Edit:

Should have mentioned. The wheel spins indefinitely in the UI too. Even after a successful Advanced Refresh on just one series.

I have same issues with updating media Infos with build  3.0.5597.1. Refreshing for each movie title (iso file) worked but forcing advanced update in meta data manager dont work. Only the wheel is running and running.

I notice when updating a movie in movie folder that pismo is short running (symbol in task bar) but doesnt appear when trying to update all movies at once in meta data manager.

Well that doesn't have anything to do with what's being discussed here, but, with the number of users with ISO's shrinking they are not getting as much testing as they used to. So it will probably need investigation.

I'd post logs.. but I apologize I see nothing about the metadata lookups in my server logs even with debug enabled?  nothing about "better call saul" or "saul" etc.

Many movies and shows appears to not be downloading images anymore.

All the metadata seems correct.  Only images aren't auto downloading.

AND If I hit the "browse images button" in metadata manager the images show up from the various scrapper services.  And if I manually download them everything works.

1.) Metadata good

2.) No image downloaded

3.) "Browse Images" shows lots available from thetvdb

4.) Clicking download works
