Jambercob 12 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Pretty sure this is the same issue as this topic HERE I believe the Server from which the installers grab the files to install are down and it's just a matter of waiting until they come back online.
Luke 42077 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Yea that's correct. We're working on it. 1
iainsheppard 5 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I have just re-installed my HTPC and having this issue now.
ebr 16169 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Still? I am not aware of any network issues at the moment. Is it exactly the same thing?
dAyLiTe 5 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I'm getting something similar: Error: Downloading Package. System.Net.WebException An exception occured during s WebClient request.
ebr 16169 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 That just sounds like a timeout problem. With all the people rushing to install MBT for the first time, plus the new server a couple days ago plus this new version of MBC, we may simply be saturating our bandwidth. Please try again and see if it is consistent.
iainsheppard 5 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I have tried this morning and get the same thing. I will just try throughout the day / night to see if it improves. I am in Australia btw.
Luke 42077 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 we should probably improve the message to something like the download failed please try again later. 1
ebr 16169 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Yes we should. I don't really see us saturating our bandwidth on our server end, though. Yes, it is higher today than normal, but it isn't up in the range where we have been in the past so I'm not sure what is going on here.
iainsheppard 5 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 at the moment my net is capped to 256kbit but I dont see that being and issue as normal web surfing is fine.
dAyLiTe 5 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Problem cleared up, as soon as I had more bandwidth. Perhaps review the time-out scripts, as other downloads occured without error.
