somy 25 Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) Hi, Does Emby support blu-ray iso playback in web client? I remember bluray worked in an earlier version before Emby, but I seem to have issue playing them in the latest stable build 3.0.5572. When I click Play it just show the black screen and the transcoder doesn't seem to kick in and does the job. In the log file I found the following lines which seem to indicate that the iso was mounted, but instead of the main ts file ffmpeg is asked to transcode the iso itself. Could that be the cause? 2015-04-16 20:30:44.8090 Info - App: Mounting \\server\Home\Blu-ray\Concerts\Adele-Live at the Royal Albert Hall\Adele-Live at the Royal Albert Hall.iso 2015-04-16 20:30:44.8260 Debug - App: Start 2015-04-16 20:30:45.2554 Info - App: \\server\Home\Blu-ray\Concerts\Adele-Live at the Royal Albert Hall\Adele-Live at the Royal Albert Hall.iso mounted to \\.$DU.pfmfs_A1C\Adele_Live_at_the_Royal_Albert_Hall.iso-32 2015-04-16 20:30:45.2554 Info - App: C:\Users\Mai\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ffmpeg\20150110\ffmpeg.exe -fflags +genpts -i file:"\\server\Home\Blu-ray\Concerts\Adele-Live at the Royal Albert Hall\Adele-Live at the Royal Albert Hall.iso" -sn -codec:v:0 libvpx -force_key_frames expr:gte(t,n_forced*5) -vf "scale=min(iw\,1920):trunc(ow/dar/2)*2" -pix_fmt yuv420p -speed 16 -quality good -profile:v 0 -slices 8 -crf 10 -qmin 0 -qmax 50 -maxrate:v 7872000 -bufsize:v (7872000*2) -b:v 7872000 -vsync vfr -map_metadata -1 -threads 3 -codec:a:0 libvorbis -ab 128000 -af "aresample=async=1" -y "C:\Users\Mai\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\transcoding-temp\36706306869e4491d8c5a8020c6da770.webm" 2015-04-16 20:30:45.3695 Debug - App: Disposing stream resources 2015-04-16 20:30:45.3695 Info - App: Unmounting \\server\Home\Blu-ray\Concerts\Adele-Live at the Royal Albert Hall\Adele-Live at the Royal Albert Hall.iso 2015-04-16 20:30:45.3695 Info - App: FFMpeg exited with code 1 Edited April 16, 2015 by somy
Luke 42080 Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 it's something we attempt to do but it is only considered experimental.
MSattler 390 Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 it's something we attempt to do but it is only considered experimental. It's worked for me in the past, but honestly the best route for streaming will always be to convert the bluray's to mkv. 1
somy 25 Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 OK, it also worked for me in an older version (can't recall). If it is implemented why remove the function? I understand it won't work for every BD, but at least it should try to play them.
ebr 16185 Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 No one has removed anything. That format always has been hit or miss. It simply isn't well supported by anything (and this probably won't be changing for the better as the world is moving away from disc-based formats).
