Playback error - most likely permissions

Hi - I'm trying to get a new OpenElec (v5.0.8) system running with MB3 and am running into what appears to be a permission issue.  When trying to play a MB file from the OpenElec system (on an Intel NUC with latest bios)

My MBserver is running on a Windows 7 PC (all PCs are connected with 100MBs hardwired connections to the same switch).  The server is set up with media locations that are defined like \\192.168.10.250\Movies and \\192.167.10.250\TVShows and I have the Movies and TVShows folders shared with "everyone" as well as the "TV" user which is the windows administrator.  On the OpenElec machine I have the server address port number and username in there and am able to view all my media.  I also have Network Username: set as "TV" with a blank password (my windows 7 admin account does not have a password).

When I try to play media from the new PC I get a generic "One or more items failed to play, check the log file for details" error, and any time after the first I just get nothing.

I tried turning on the Play from HTTP instead of SMB setting and with that checked I was able to play the files as "Direct Play - HTTP", but the video is unwatchably stuttering (like shows a frame, then shows another frame 10 seconds later level of unwatchable).  I also tried removing the username, restarting, etc. but no luck.

I attached the logfile from the OpenElec PC after I enabled info level logging in the MB addon - I was trying to play the first episode of "The Affair" if you are doing a quick search in the log.  I'm using the MB addon v0.9.825 with the MB confluence skin.

Any ideas on what could be stopping my OpenElec PC from direct playing my media?

Thank you!!!
