Problems with Emby library scans

I'm having problems with the emby library scans.

First thing in the morning I will fire up the front page of Emby, but I will only get the My Views section to pop up instantaneously. When I click the dashboard, the library scan is usually happening at that time. My library scans have been taking 1 3/4 hours lately (which is really almost double what it normally takes), and during that time, my web client only shows the My Views section of the front page. If I click into one of the icons there, it just sits and spins. After the scan is complete, Emby is great and works normally. I'm not sure why it chokes and dies during the scan - my expected functionalty would be that it would use the existing library and show everything on the front page. Heck, I think the front page should be cached/pre-built and should show up VERY quickly every time I go into it. I would expect that the last stage of the library scan would update the latest media and resume sections on the cached front page rather than having to calculate the resume and latest sections every time I hit the page itself.

Another issue I've run into is that I've reduced the scheduled scans only to one time a day in the middle of the night because of this issue, but throughout the day if I'm uploading content to the server, intermittently it will do an automatic library scan on its own. If Emby worked as I outlined above, it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but right now it really makes Emby unusable during those times the library is being scanned. My only recourse in that situation is to stop the library scan so I can get access to my library, or just navigate my folders using Windows and not use Emby during the scan.

Please help - is my install jacked, am I experiencing something I shouldn't be?
