ebr 16169 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Version 263 contains a number of improvements for stability contributed by @@paul777 (one of the original MB devs and the one who got me involved in the project, btw). Please give this version a full go and make sure we didn't break anything in the process (especially plug-ins). And, if you use 360 extenders, please try this out with them as I believe it will mean much better performance and stability for those devices. 5

I did still get lockups after playing a video (or stopping a video). It looks like it "wants to continue a little farther" - It returns to the movie info screen (which is where it would lockup before) and I can now hit back again and it will start to go back another screen before it locks up. Macburp 112 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 My experience was virtually identical to @@mediaGuy. Moving around the menu was prompt and and quick - selected and played an ep without problem, stopped playback and backed out to the main menu without problem. Went back into the same show to check the new interface, which worked quickly - using the interface had been sluggish in the previous version. Did a few chapter jumps. Tried to back out to the top menu and the extender crashed. This is the same crash as I have had with the previous version.

DGMayor 90 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 This might have actually fixed a long standing issue I had (the issue only occurred using certain long unsupported themes that you'll have to pry out of my cold dead hands).. Interface is snappier (win 7 64 bit media center), and prior to this version whenever I would hit one specific category on the EHS it would crash..every time. tonight, it's working again.

I discovered a problem with MB Plus last night as it appears a public method it uses was changed so playing to an external player crashed MBC. Is this what you saw or something else?

Testing 'new' interface for skipforward/back, there is noticeable lag where there had been none on 263. Chapter skip is very laggy - less though than on the beta release, but enough to be hard to use. However, no crashes yet observed when using back to come back to the top menu. I am cautiously optimistic I'm planning to move my xbox to the bedroom so the missus can watch neighbours, and was planning to put the old interface back. I'm hoping @@ebr can make chapter skip a bit less laggy while curing the crashes.

BAS 225 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Overall performance is up on extenders, I played multiple items, moving back and forth through the interface going to the EHS drilling through libraries. It eventually locked up after finish playing a HD movie on the extender.
Macburp 112 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Used the extender for four hours last night without a crash. Interface a little laggy, but nothing you wouldn't expect with a 360. No crashes! Under previous versions of the client I would see the extender pause when backing out to the top menu, before moving to the top menu entry for the show I'm reversing out of. Under 264 this is not happening (this is good).

ebr 16169 Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 It cannot play that avi file. I've had similar problems with AVIs and have had to farm them out to MPC-HC.
