smb://<user><password>@Server is not compatible with DSPlayer

When using the Kodi addin, I see the following error on Kodi.log (DSPlayer build)

smb://<user>:<password>@server/<path>/<filename.mkv> DSPlayer fails to play the video (with any renderer choice)

12:06:04 T:924 ERROR: CFGLoader::InsertSourceFilter Failed to load file in the splitter/source
12:06:04 T:924 ERROR: CFGLoader::LoadFilterRules Failed to insert the source filter
12:06:04 T:924 ERROR: CFGManager::RenderFileXbmc Failed to load filters rules
12:06:04 T:924 ERROR: CDSPlayer::Process - Failed creating DS Graph

But when the path is passed like
smb://server/<path>/<filename.mkv> it works just fine.

I asked the DSPlayer developer to look at it, but perhaps there is something to consider from Emby side as well - would be an option to have the addin setup the different source locations and with that drop the need to pass the login information with every file?

This is the workaround I have setup right now. no name/password in the Emby addon, all sources set (with proper name/password) in Kodi.

PS: Reason for using the DSPlayer version of Kodi is the brand new integration with MadVR! see the topic here.

I am having exactly the same issue. When I switch to DVDPlayer in Emby, the problem goes away, but I can't get anything to play using DSPlayer.

careca - could you provide a link to your post in the Emby forums? I'd like to follow the progress there as well. Thanks!

I experienced a similar issue when calling an external player. The fix was to removed the account and password in the emby add in. If the user in Windows already has access to the movies locations on the server or PC it will now pass the file as \\server\folder\file
