tman 47 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I'm thinking of bagging myself a Fire TV. Fed up of waiting for the Nexus Player in the UK, and FTV content seems to be picking up steam. Can't see there will be any difference between Emby/MB on these boxes anyway... but, what's the current state of MB on the FireTV? It's been talked about for a long time now. Is there actually a client available to install?

tman 47 Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/6088-amazon-fire-tv/ Thanks. I'd been through that whole thread already, but it's not conclusive if there is an actual FireTV MB app available, or if it's still in development, but after a bit more digging, I'd say based in this more recent thread, it's not ready for prime time yet. Shame.
CBers 7450 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 It works but it does need more work. You can sideload the Android EMBY app onto the Fire TV very easily. It is planned to be fully supported, it's just that the devs haven't had time to get round to it. Unless you're an Amazon Prime user, then I don't see the point in having a Fire TV just for EMBY. I personally will be getting rid of the Fire TV when the Nexus Player is available in the UK.
