I lack any graphical skills, but what if the the round part of the 'b' was some sort of play icon? Ideally it would be distinct enough that it could be recognizable on it's own. It looks good in my head, but I'll have to let someone else make it a reality... :)

Sorta like this with the b is, what I assume you meant. e could probably be more angular to match. Few options with colour. Could work. Not sure if it's got what it takes to go all the way though.

I like this as well (The last image in the list):

Thank you! so you mean like this then

I really like it! e / "power button" / stylized and fairly unique. Nicely done.

Good improvement over my earlier mock-up.

@@Joostzilla, you think you and @@chef could team up and show a combined version of your logos?

Reading through these again, I have to say, this one here really seems to catch my eye. I like the dark color and the blue. This one is very cool.

Didn't see that. I do now sorta see where you're coming from. But I think it's different enough.

As i said before. If you want to you can almost always see something different in a logo, all it takes is a little bit of imagination.

Nevertheless it's a good comment, but i also belief its differrent enough.

Just in case anyone didn't realise it... Yes... this is a joke... If you failed to get it, move along, nothing to see here... the queue for humour implants can be found over there behind that door... please don't let it hit your arse on the way out.   :)

I do like this simplified e - I agree it is different enough from the LG logo imho to be viable

@@jedninjaro Can we see it in different colour combinations as well?

When you create a logo you realy like yourself. It gets harder to keep creating new ones.

Before i created the last one, i dismissed an idea, which i now changed!

although i cant say if its better then the last one, i still like the things i see in it.

The robot is cool, but it might made people take the project less seriously.

You mean apart from a name that sounds like a child's rubber toy? [emoji16]

You've come along way from your first designs... Simple definitely better!

In my mind it's probably the front runner at the moment.

Amazing how something so simple/easy ends up being great, while still requires quite a lot of work and experimenting to get there.

  1. Wondering what it'd look like if a bit bolder/thicker. Imagining at the smaller sizes it's going to be used it's going to look very "thin".
  2. Have you tried any other front styles that work with the "e"?

These were my previous top few pics (more or less in order).

Yes - I agree. If that "e" ends up being used as a logo it should definitely be thicker - it looks kind of anemic at the moment. ;)

But this one is still my favourite for a standalone logo:

I thought about playing around with the M rather than the E in Emby. I tried doing something with the Play symbol.

The purple with black box and white background is really nice.

Put the MB in caps and it's perfect if you ask me...

From the very first post in this thread:

  • You should probably not try to emphasize the "MB" in the name.

I think in a year or so everyone will be used to calling it emby, and have mostly forgotten about MB. So don't see any reason to hold onto the baggage. It's nice that it subtly shows homage to its roots, but without being at all detrimental to the new name. Emby a good name regardless.

I'm just not sure if it's emby, Emby or EMBY.

I agree that we need to start enforcing a standard capitalization on the website and in all of the clients. The webclient seems to capitalize all of the letters while Android just uses a capital E. Which is correct so that those of us mods and devs can start using the correct capitalization when referring to the project?

As requested, to boldly go where this logo hasn't gone before!

if you ask me, much thicker isn't realy necessary. When placed in the right contrast i belief it will  hold up very well being scaled down.

  1. Have you tried any other front styles that work with the "e"?

yes i have tried differrent font styles. this one though thanks to its rounded look, works the best for me, and keeps it modern, and simple because it has the same thickness everywhere, other e's tend to scale bad.

I like it. It reminds me of a water wheel or a timer. Just not sure how it relates to the product. What's the concept/idea behind the design? (Sorry if you already explained it, I must have missed it.) :)
