Images for New Views

I was just curious about the development/progress of the images used for the new views once entering the movies/shows/etc...  Right now, they default to a few of the posters smushed into a square, which I don't mind, but they are distorted.  Will this distortion continue, or is there a plan to replace these squares with a default image?  I know these images can be replaced using the images by name folders.  Would it be welcome for me to develop generic images for these "placeholders"?  I actually prefer the default images created, but the distortion of the posters kinda bugs me.
