Does anyone know the location of or how the change the default poster image for Movies by Genre? I was able to add images for Movies and TV but this one doesn't seem to be in any menus.

I started with a clean install of v3.0.5518.7 so my setup doesn't have an ImagesByName directory.

Should I create the directory and then build the subdirectory structure in it or have these locations been changed?

Does it belong in the \metadata\ folder or some place else?

If it is a brand new installation, then there may not be an IBN anymore.  The general folder may just need to go under the metadata folder.

@@Luke can you confirm?

I confirmed \metadata\General\Movies by Genre\folder.jpg is correctly dispayed.

Thanks for the help!

are those of us with exisiting IBN paths/setups going to be fully supported moving fwd, or should i expect to have to move this in a future release and the IBN structure will be eliminated?

The IBN structure is not being eliminated.  It has just been merged with the metadata folder.

I've had to step away for a few weeks and probably more yet again due to medical issues in the family. I came back to notice my SSD was much fuller then the last time I looked. I currently have a imagesbyname structure and this metadata structure, my people folder never moved to the new location, so at some point my server repopulated and fetched my entire people folder again inside of the metadata location. So regardless if the IBN goes away or not, its definitely not merging/moving my IBN to this new location, instead its acquiring new images and refetching info.

I meant it was logically merged.  We don't perform any actual conversion.

Hi @@ebr

If we want to merge/move ibn to the new "metadata" folder. Is it possible?

It looks like if these two settings in system config need to be changed to true

  <EnableLibraryMetadataSubFolder>false</EnableLibraryMetadataSubFolder>

  <MergeMetadataAndImagesByName>false</MergeMetadataAndImagesByName>

And then rename IBN to "Metadata"

Hoping it is that easy. :)

Thanks!

Instead you would want to take all the sub-folders of your IBN and move them to your existing Metadata directory.  Or, vice versa if you are wanting your metadata directory where your old IBN was.
