Chuggy 3 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I recently found that certain episodes of a series would not play on my Roku. All files appear to be formatted the same for both Audio and video (MKV). The only way I can get the specific episodes to play is by moving the playback quality down to 2.0 Mbps. I'm hoping there is another setting somewhere that i'm missing. It seems odd to have to do this for specific episodes. Does anyone have any ideas?
farside847 39 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Im guessing by reducing the quality you are forcibg it to transcode and then it works. Mkv is a container only. Inside it you must still have a roku compatible video and audio format. Are you able to tell what format is in those mkv's?
Luke 42077 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 well the roku app should force it to transcode if it's not supported anyway, so we need to get to the bottom of why that's not happening. Please see http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/790-how-to-report-a-problem/
Nologic 30 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Well you can use this script. [Linky] to give you some base idea of why it's not playing directly.
Chuggy 3 Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 Here is the log file: http://paste2.org/VBgK1wwd it doesn't appear that a transcode starts as there is no log file created. The video very briefly attempts to load and then goes back to the menu.
