Uninstalling MB3 For A Clean Slate...

Evening folks,

I just want to make sure that I haven't missed anything is all, so... r-clicking and choosing "Uninstall" from within 'Programs and Features' and then at the MB3 uninstall pop-up window, selecting the top option which if memory serves me correctly was 'Delete Cache' (this then auto selects the bottom three checkboxes) and clicking OK/Next/Finish; is that all there is to uninstalling MB3 Server and wiping the slate clean?

There are no hidden files or folders or anything else located anywhere else that can or need to be deleted? i.e. anything in AppData? ...Anything? ...Anywhere?

Like I said, I just want to make sure so that I know when I go and reinstall in a moment, MB3 Server will not pick up some hidden settings from somewhere and use them in the new install. I want to make sure for myself that when I do reinstall MB3, it will most assuredly be from a clean slate.

Thanks folks,

Dodgy Bob.

That should be it :)

If you want to make sure look in C:\Users\Username\appdata\roaming\MediaBrowser-server

Delete %appdata%\MediaBrowser-Server as well if you want to.

That is where all of the MB files are kept.

Thanks lads,

Yep, been there - done that! Was just wanting to make sure I had actually got everything and that there wasn't something, somewhere, being sneaky  :)

Right, off I go then  ;)

I use revo uninstaller (the free version) personally to make sure all traces of programmes are gone when I uninstall them

I went through the same process over the weekend - I had copied over my DEV MBS install to a 2nd PC for testing purposes, then decided to delete it.

I had over 17Gb of MB-related data in that folder and it took ages to delete as there were so many files, over 207,000 !!

Yeah? Ok.

Hmmm, might look into that for next time perhaps. Might be something useful to have in my bag of tools  ;)  This time around I just did the uninstall via 'Progams & Features', followed by a cleanup using CCleaner, rebooted, re-ran CCleaner just to make sure, and since it was looking good, proceeded with the re-install. All seems to have worked out well as its running now and doing what it should  :)

Yep, ouch!

All those little files get to be a pain when you want to move or delete, hey?

It turns into "sit back and have a [insert-favourite-beverage-here]" time.

Just FYI - we don't put anything in the registry so the special cleaning tools shouldn't be necessary for us.
