Web Client Sub-Forum?

Recommended Posts

Just curious why this doesn't exist. Because there is no dedicated sub forum for support of this client, the questions end up all over (general, theater, server, other)

The web client seems to be a highly used client. Might be good to have a dedicated support forum?

I think it has just been considered part of the Server since it's all in one. That's how I've always seen and I post in the server section.  However I guess you have a point, as it gets more advanced the server (setup/settings) and client could be separate forums.

Also server is broken up in to sub forums by os. Since the web client is common across them it is confusing where to post a question or issue. I've just been seeing web client questions pop up in 3 or 4 different locations and I think it is because it is confusing where it should go. I think a lot of people would consider the dashboard section to be the "server" and everything else to be a web client "app"

Agreed. I just posted a web client in the windows section because I was not sure where else to put it. But it'd be the same issue on Mac OS X and Linux.

When will this be up?

I'm currently having issues with the web ui on the xbox one. Using the latest Beta but for the web ui is loading correctly on it.

But i'm not sure what subforum to post in.

We can help with that although I would suggest trying Xbox Media Player because a lot of work has been done recently to improve dlna with Xbox one.

Tried but it goes crazy on me... files don't always play.

It usually will occur if my son is signed in and an adult account is needed to allow him to watch using the app.

Because it cant tell the age rating of the file it just simply asks every time.

Before you posted I re-installed the latest beta. Did a test and it solved the problem....

Basically on the Xbox One if you have accounts that have media restriction i.e, age ratings for video files.

If they start a file it will ask you(Parent) to allow them to watch it. When I tried this yesterday... every time I would allow him by typing in my passcode it just ended up asking me to do it again and again and again.

It looks like the update process did not work correctly

I've attached a pic of what the Web ui looks like. The options in the top left and top right is missing. Also clicking on a action item like play does nothing. But reloading the page seem to work.

DLNA works great for me.

But I still prefer the Web UI over the Xbox Media Player. The controls are just better.

Cant wait for a native app. If only it could be like eMBy for WMC.

I still miss cover flow... :-(
