XBOX MCC regularly freezing

MCC is regularly freezing whilst browsing.

MP4 playback doesn't work either.

 

Does anyone have any advice on these issues, or where to look to begin troubleshooting?

You mean MBC?

 

Try the default theme.  Try turning off backdrops.

MBC relies on wmc's appreciation of what a video is..use http://www.hack7mc.com/2009/01/adding-mp4-files-to-movie-library_22.html to add mp4 support.

 

I get the odd freeze when browsing wmc. I suspect (unproven) turning off logging and reducing the size of the Recently added list (configuration in mbc xml) helps reduce freezing instances.

I have had occasions when wmc freezing increases from occasional to all the time even outside mb3..i found deleting the extender user mcx1 profile and recreating helped.
