NWGiles 10 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Good Evening all, A quick question; All of my data is stored on a Synology NAS. Getting another one to add, and I would like to split up the Library, So music would stay where it is with the camera data but move the movies and tv folder to the new NAS. Is it just a case of moving over the folders and data and changing the library paths and all is grand or will it treat it as new data and start the metadata hunt again? thanks
Beardyname 198 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 (edited) if the metadata is saved in the folders it won't look for new metadata, if they are stored separately in another folder somewhere it will have to download some (all kinda) again. Edited March 5, 2015 by Beardyname 1
NWGiles 10 Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 Hi Beardy Thank you, In my settings, 'Save artwork and metadata into media folder' is ticked. So i believe I have a massive folder in my MBS location. Does this mean It would go searching and I would have to correct the few again or would it be ok? Or could i just stop the service edit the config to point to the new location, restart the service and it would just carry on? thanks
Beardyname 198 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 If the box "save artwork and metadata into media folder" is ticked, then all the metatadata is saved along side your actual movies/tv shows this makes it easy, just add the new paths in the dashboard and you should be up and running asap. 1
