ignore folder in EHS but available in folder view

I keep a "temp" folder that I put junk in that I might watch, might not, but eventually I move or delete it from the folder. Currently this folder is scanned even though I have a file called "ignore.ignore" in the folder. Items still show up in the EHS view, but the folder is available in the FOLDER view.

What I want is for the items to not appear in EHS (because often they are named wrong, or don't have meta data), but I would like to browse them in the TEMP folder. How would I do this?

You can remove that folder from being grouped into movies in the web client. But not all the clients respect that so it would depend on which clients you use. At the moment I think just the web client and MBC do.

Click on your user and go to My Preferences and then uncheck the folder in My Views in the Display tab.

ok that works...but now my TEMP folder is a TAB on the EHS top menu...I don't want that either. I only want the TEMP folder to appear when I go into the folder view. Is that possible?

Make it a sub folder of something else.

any reason my ignore.ignore file does not work?

Yeah, because the convention for the ignore file is ".ignore"  not "ignore.ignore".

That will make the folder contents just not show up in MB though.

but you can't create a file without a name and just the extension in win8...

at least it's giving me an error when I try to...

I think it should be inserfilenamehere.ignore
