ChromeCast support whilst browsing through SSL

Has anybody been able getting ChromeCast to work whilst browsing the web-client on SSL?

I'm able to connect to ChromeCast, TV shows the "Choose some media"-logo but upon pressing "Play" nothing happens.

Switching back to plain HTTP on the web-client and everything works like a charm.

 

Is this a known limitation or am I missing something?

 

Edit: Forgot to add that I'm on version 3.0.5518.7.

Chromecast doesn't work with self signed certificates.
