breezytm 124 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 ebr, Can you please notify non admin accounts of new update. In my extender I see a green notification icon in the top right corner but I don't see it in my htpc unless I am an admin. Just the green button will do.
ebr 16169 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 It already does but it could take 10 seconds or so for it to show up.
breezytm 124 Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 Interesting. I used to have breezytm, my username, as my admin account. That was the first account created when I installed MBS. Since I use beta/dev on all MB software rather than release I tend to get ask to update a lot. To avoid being prompted to update so often I decided to create an account call admin and gave it administrative rights and made my, breezytm, account a regular user. Now on the XBOX i get the notification when an update is available which is nice but I never saw it on the PC when I am logged in. I checked with the last release. As soon as I switch to the admin account it prompts me to install. Maybe I should wait for the next release and check again.
ebr 16169 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 You won't get prompted unless you are an admin but the green circle will show up.
breezytm 124 Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 Okay. I will double check in next update and report back.
breezytm 124 Posted March 1, 2015 Author Posted March 1, 2015 I can confirm it does not show it. At least for me. It works fine in my extender but when I am using my HTPC I have to go to settings and manually click update. Only when using a non-admin account. When using an admin account as soon as I login I get the notification.
breezytm 124 Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Chocolate theme, right? Yes sir. I don't want the prompt. Just the notification icon.
ebr 16169 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Are you sure you don't have automatic update check disabled on that machine?
breezytm 124 Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 No it's not disabled. I just checked before replying back.
