Tolerant 74 Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) Quite awhile ago (unless its always been this way), MBS started showing PCNAME/Firstname%20Lastname/ as my user info at the top of MBS and in the settings pages overlay-ed on this active device thumbnail. Is there a way to fix that and get the space back instead of %20 ? Server Version 3.0.5518.7 running on Win7-64 running in FireFox Edit: I believe my username was created from my windows user account, thus allowing the two word name but was told by another user if they attempt to create one manually in MBS it will not allow it. Tolerant 74 Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 Ok, this is interesting.. I decided to go change my user name (if I could) and noticed that it is actually only my first name.. so it seems that is not my actual user name with the %20 but instead it is my PC/AccountName for windows. Maybe someone could look into this and tell MBS to work nicely with the space instead of displaying the %20 when based on a two word user account name for windows. -- Thanks
Maleficarum 68 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 ya verified this, if the windows account name has a space it will be used by the server but if an account is manually created it will not allow spaces.
Luke 42077 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 the server won't do this anymore. the best thing is just to rename the account so that it falls within the requirements.
Tolerant 74 Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 I attempted to rename my user account in the MB Server's page for users, but it only sees me as "FirstName". Since this is actually my entire windows account name, you are suggesting that I rename that at an OS level? If I remember right, that causes windows to get "messy" in various situations.

Luke 42077 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Sorry, I meant the Emby username, not your windows user name. Your windows username can be anything you like. It was special characters in Emby names that was causing the problem. We have since disallowed these characters from being added in the first place, and that's why I suggested that the easiest thing to do would be to just rename your Emby user.
Tolerant 74 Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 yeah but back when I first created the account, I am guessing it was based off my user name.. unless I did it, but it was allowed, then later I noticed the %20 issue. Anyways.. posting more logs in that other thread.. these Json errors are still popping up messages when I scan.. even after a totally fresh windows install and Emby install. Wth.
