If I use the new "server views" MBC takes 2 mins to launch. If I use Classic View its ten seconds. This is on a local PC with SSD, quad core, 8gig ram.

Also why is there no Favorites View? The Web Client has one. Without a Favorites view I will pretty much just use classic anyhow.

Please go to the web client and bring up a detail page on any item.  Then, in the address bar where it says "Id=xxxxxxxxxxxxxx" replace the id with the following and hit enter:

Then make note of what item is displayed.  Please then repeat that for these Ids:

Favorites are displayed under the "Movies" and "TV" items in the new views - just like in the web client.

What is (base)?  Meaning you get the TV Series?

I think something is causing a full recursive load of your library.  Must be some combination of options.  Can you please find the MBC config file for the user in question and post it?  It will be in %appdata%\MediaBrowser-Classic\Configurations

Same problem here. With server views, there is no fanart cycling on the EHS and the EHS takes about 2 minutes to appear from starting the MBC app. As Trevor68 has mentioned, switching to legacy views "fixes" this.

Logs - I've started MBC with server views, waited the 2 minutes or so for EHS to appear, then from EHS gone into the config menu and switched to legacy view before restarting MBC. EHS then takes a couple of seconds to appear. HTH

Also attached a User config that exhibits this problem.

Try unchecking "Default to First Unplayed Item" and see if it makes a difference.

Then try "Remember Folder Indexing" and then "Remember Folder Filters".

Only change one option at a time so we can see what, if anything, has an effect.  Thx.

Will do @@ebr. As an aside, I've just started matching settings between this user and another which doesn't have the problem. Nothing to report yet other than the first user is still slow to start compared to the other user. If you think it would help I can upload the user config for the working user?

Ok, in my case, I've just unchecked the "Hide Empty Folders" box, and that's fixed it for me. Still get no fanart on the EHS, is that by design? I get fanart on the EHS for Collections and Channels, not for any other item.

Hi,

Been following as been having same problem (Slow load time).

"Try unchecking "Default to First Unplayed Item" and see if it makes a difference." was unchecked in my case. So no difference.

Remember indexes and folder filters were also unchecked.

Trying above unchecking "Hide Empty Folders" also worked for me!! Yea!

@@ebr if you need any logs or other config options from me to help nail it down let me know.

Thanks

Great, thanks.

That option is a real problem.  I've tried to usurp all the problems but new ones leak through like this.  It has been planned to go into the server for a long time but hasn't made it yet.

Ok, think I've fixed the no Fanart issue as well. Following the advice of others in other posts, I've gone into the web ui and unchecked the "My Views" boxes under preferences. Fanart is now working.

Just confirming it was hide empty folders for me too, all fixed now.
