MB3 cannot obtain Genres (in Metadata) ?

Hello,

I just install MB3 Server few days ago, this apps is very nice, but it cannot find any Metadata "Genres" !

is it normal ?

do i make it myself, manualy ?

 

I have no problem with others Metadata,

For exemple, with "Studio" it's ok

Okay, that's a start.  What does your file structure look like?  What type of items are these?  Did you have previous local metadata for them?  A log from when you refresh one of these items?

Now, I have just installed MB3 on another PC = the same problem, no "Genre" data

What, exactly, is the folder name and contents of that movie folder?  Can you post a screen shot from explorer?

 

Also, did you manually enter a tmdb id for that item?

 

One other thing to know is that you are requesting French metadata so it may not be as complete as the English version.

One other thing to know is that you are requesting French metadata so it may not be as complete as the English version.

And i tried also in my other PC only in English = no Genres !

I have this problem too - more than 1/2 of my movies are missing genre meta data. So, first of all, how can I see a list of movies with missing genre? I add up all the movies shown in the 'By Genre' view and I get a total of <half of total movie count. But since films are listed in more than one genre, I assume the actual count of films with genre metadata is lower. But how can I tell? Is there a way to get a view by genre that includes 'No Genre' or 'blank' or whatever?

 

I have movie files stored in 2 directories and in both of these there's a mix of films in folders (where the film is multi-part) and not in folders, e.g. :

 

..\Movies\Movie Named ABC\Movie Named ABC Pt1.avi (or .mp4 or whatever)

..\Movies\Movie Named ABC\Movie Named ABC Pt2.avi

..\Movies\Some Other Movie.avi

..\Movies\Another Movie.avi

 

After fiddling with movie names in certain cases (adding TMDB IDs, adding year in parens), all the films have meta data including at a minimum the appropriate .xml file and the odd graphic or two. For most films, the scanning process found and downloaded a complete set of graphics, actor images, etc.

 

However, the genre data appears to be very incomplete. How can I address this? I have very little interest in manually adding genre for 100s of films.
