chef 3810 Posted February 9, 2015 Author Posted February 9, 2015 I thought I just got an email with them unveiling their new logo... I must be low on their email list. I just got the contest email yesterday! Lol!
Kode 52 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) No, Chef is right, we just launched the competition, ebr must be on the clairvoyant mailing list, was the final logo any good??? Thanks for posting this here Chef, we would love to see some entries from you guys, we have only had a couple of entries so far. Full details can be seen here: https://fanart.tv/newsletter/logo-design-competition/ Edited February 17, 2015 by Kode
ebr 16169 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Ah, sorry. Guess I was reading too fast .
Angelblue05 4132 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I haven't designed a logo in years....I hope I'm not too rusty !
Angelblue05 4132 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) @@Kode Well this is what I came up with. Pen to paper, I tried to keep it simple with one color, playing with the opacity, while still being dynamic. This logo is made out of the two letters, F - the paper and A - the pencil. In the contest presentation, it doesn't really specify what to do with the Fanart.tv part. Do we keep the same font "concept" as what it is currently? Thanks, I was wondering before I submit my entry Edited February 10, 2015 by Angelblue05 2
Kode 52 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) @@Angelblue05 the plan is to have both, the logo part as a stand alone element, which can also sit with the name (like you have there), and you can do whatever you like font wise. The site design is still a long way off, but if you guys are interested here are some of the mockups I've been playing with, keep in mind they are all unfinished and not necessarily representative of what the page would look like (some have random elements on the page just added while I was thinking about it). Thanks, I was wondering before I submit my entry Wonderfully creative! Just love the pencil/paper theme. The F took me a minute if I understand it right. If I do, it's made up of the thin straight lines and part of the pencil tip. If so, I think thicker lines there work better. Either way, this has my vote, and thanks! Angelblue05 4132 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) Thanks @@akovia, I had it with thicker lines in my original mock-up and thought we lose the "concept" too much when shrunk to 50px,....It's just a wink to FanArt, but I will probably end up submitting both versions, just in case! @@Kode Edit: Oops, I thought my first post never went thru on the Fanart forums, so I sent another one....It was just awating moderator approval. Only one should be posted. >.> Thanks! Edited February 11, 2015 by Angelblue05 2
Kode 52 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I approved the first post and deleted the second. You are right though, at small sizes the thinner line one does work better 1
Angelblue05 4132 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) I'm giving you extra work @@Kode, I modified my post (changed the image minus my name) on the fanart forums. You'll need to approve my modified post. Thanks again for giving us the opportunity to participate in the creative aspect of the new Fanart.tv look. Edited February 11, 2015 by Angelblue05
Kode 52 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I approved the edit And thanks for taking the time to participate, it's much appreciated.
Kode 52 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) Well we have a couple of entries now, though still only one from Mediabrowser (cracking entry though), I realised I never included the forum post people could go to to see the current entries (thread is just for entries though, so refrain from posting on it, will probably create a new thread in a couple of weeks to discuss entries). And that the link to the details had a space at the end that broke the link, so I fixed that, and will include the link again at the bottom of this post. Current entries can be seen at https://forum.fanart.tv/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=276 If anybody else wants to have a go please do, the more entries the better, and if you want to submit multiple entries feel free as well, we have set the limit to 5 entries per person though. Terms: https://fanart.tv/newsletter/logo-design-competition/ We have actually had a few more (3 more I think) entries than are on the thread, but they either didn't post on the forum and so wont be considered or haven't used the template and so have been deleted until the user re-submits using the template. Kode 52 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 4 days left until the competition closes, so if there are any last minute entries, get them in quick
Angelblue05 4132 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) I'm surprised at the lack of participants in the contest....I guess it's less competition, haha! >.> My second entry: Symmetric, yet simple design with darker tones. Made of the two letters F and A. Hope you enjoy! Edited March 7, 2015 by Angelblue05 1
