dragon2611 29 Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Would be nice if it was possible to pre-transcode content for certain devices, e.g if the server isn't powerful enough for realtime transcoding and you know you're going to need a copy in a certain format for a particular device. Obviously that would use more space as it would have to store the transcoded copy as well

I was thinking of being able to set a profile e.g "Roku" and have it create a pre-trancodoed copy of the video that's optimized to playback on a "Roku"
ebr 16169 Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Yes it would so, for devices that support that, sync would cover it. Also, the sync feature could probably easily be expanded to a "pre-transcode" one in time and if demand is there.
jose 73 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I would like to see this feature as well, to have cached copies at a predetermined quality already prepared and be able to sync to a device or download from the web server.
