Save Artwork and Metadata into Media Folders for Artists not reliable

When "Save Artwork and Metadata into Media Folders" is enabled...

 

If an artist exists in library (eg. "The Decemberists" as artist  tag on "Various Artists"  album) prior to a file system folder object being created for the artist as album artist (eg. W:\Music\Decemberists, The\Album1\)

Should the file system folder object for the artist be populated with NFO and JPGs, once scanned / fetched?

 

To the ley man it seems, that MB3 is happy to store the NFO but not the JPGs in the Artist's media folder W:\MUSIC\Decemberists, The\folder.jpg.

The artist continues to exist in IBN and the metadata manager lists IBN as the location/path for the artist. with all the images and nfo.

 

Its odd that the NFO respects the configuration option..and gets recreated in media folder if removed....but not the artwork...(even if the ibn folder is removed - ibn is recreated with nfo and artwork but media folder itself is not populated with artwork)

 

Im guessing that it may be related to the object already existing in IBN. All my other Artists have Artwork and Metadata stored in Media Folder.

 

I tried it with a filesystem folder object, W:\Music\The Decemberists\...with same result.

New Artists (which dont preexist in IBN - might not be the root cause - just a guess) dont have any problem and their metadata/artwork are stored in the media folder..

 

there is nothing to show in the logs...the artist does not appear..mb3 scan is happy the database/media folders/ibn is consistent with the options.

 

im using

nfo as writer and primary reader for artists
