thefirstofthe300 292 Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 (edited) Just watched the first episode of Quantico. The series seems to have potential; however the storyline in the first episode was very muddled. It took some effort to realize when they had switched between the flashbacks and the present. The acting was OK and they seemed to try to hard to make everyone a suspect in this first episode. Overall, I am giving it a five out of ten for the pilot. I will see if the next couple episodes get any better. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk Edited September 28, 2015 by thefirstofthe300
CBers 7450 Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 Haven't watched it as yet, but just wondered what people thought of the CSI series finale ??

ebr 16169 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Thanks. I'll check that one out. I've really enjoyed several of the recent shows you Brits have come up with (Broadchurch, The Fall, Fortitude).
thefirstofthe300 292 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 That Rob Lowe is a busy guy these days! Haven't you seen the DirecTV commercials? There's 5 or 6 of him now. XD 1
jluce50 122 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Haven't you seen the DirecTV commercials? There's 5 or 6 of him now. XD Commercials? Ah, that takes me back... ;-) 2
badaas 139 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Haven't watched it as yet, but just wondered what people thought of the CSI series finale ?? It was OK for what it was. I was expecting George Eads to be the bad guy at the end, smiling back at the camera like Michael Jackson at the end of Thriller,.. but alas, no. [even though I knew he wasn't in it!]..

[even though I knew he wasn't in it!]..LOL I've seen it now and it was just like any other episode, but allowed for stories to be concluded and lead on to others. A good episode, but so leaves it open for it to return at some point if they wanted to.
AdrianW 1058 Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Thanks. I'll check that one out. I've really enjoyed several of the recent shows you Brits have come up with (Broadchurch, The Fall, Fortitude). Check out Not Safe For Work, No Offence and Doctor Foster.
CBers 7450 Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 For those of us old enough to remember the original series. Danger Mouse http://imdb.com/rg/an_share/title/title/tt4196822/
ebr 16169 Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Check out Not Safe For Work, No Offence and Doctor Foster. Thanks. The best show you Aussies have produced is "Rake". The US tried to do a version of it last year but I didn't even watch an episode of it because I knew it would suck compared to the original . And don't even get me started on the abomination the US created that was supposed to be "Broadchurch".
joshstix 25 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I think the best show I've seen come out of Australia lately is Old School.

And don't even get me started on the abomination the US created that was supposed to be "Broadchurch". The U.S. version of Rake never stood a chance. It was even aired out of order, which made it even harder to follow. The thing is, taken on its own, instead of a remake of the Aussie original, it actually was not all that bad. Greg Kinnear actually did a decent job with the role. Still though, it simply should have never been tried. It was obvious from before it even started that it was all wrong for network television in America.

thefirstofthe300 292 Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I think I am giving up on Limitless. The premise has SOOO much potential but the dialog and narration are so ridiculous I am getting to the point where I can't stand it. They need to hire new writers. 1
AdrianW 1058 Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 You, Me and the Apocalypse I really enjoyed the first episode - it was much better than I was expecting. I saw Megan Mullally's name in the title credits - and I immediately recognised her voice off-screen in the prison cell, but then when she came on screen, I thought I was mistaken - those makeup people sure did an excellent job, she looks totally different from anything else I've seen her in. 1

Too many other shows to watch. Don't think this will be renewed.
CBers 7450 Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 This looks good: River http://imdb.com/rg/an_share/title/title/tt4258440/ Starts next Tuesday (13 October).
ebr 16169 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Was that the right link? That was for a TV Movie. Are they making a series from it?
CBers 7450 Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 (edited) Was that the right link? That was for a TV Movie. Are they making a series from it?Yes, it opens OK here. Looks like the TV series is either a spin-off or a remake of the TV Movie. It stars Stellan Skarsgård as River, so you could check against him. ebr 16169 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Tvdb has a better description as well. Sounds a lot like 'Luther' which I enjoyed. Thx.
fantaxp7 191 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 American Horror Story started out...incredibly freaky shall we say. Though each season seems to do so. Give us a good episode or two then just becomes OK.
xnappo 1611 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I'll keep watching just for the music. They haven't played anything I don't already know/own yet - but I am sure they will.
CBers 7450 Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 This looks good: River http://imdb.com/rg/an_share/title/title/tt4258440/ Starts next Tuesday (13 October). This is excellent. Very dark, but humorous at times.
