Phantom Folder in Server view

Strange.  I expected you to say that you had the Trailers Plugin installed, as that would account for the second collection.  You said you had an actual folder that contains your downloaded trailers.  Are you able to browse that collection ok?  What happens if you try to browse the second trailers collection?

Yeah i's very odd. Everthing has been working well and then this folder has shown up.

If i browse the actual traliers folder it works like normal but if i look in the phantom folder there is nothing in there (so its not a duplicate of the other folder).

Try renaming your actual folder of trailers to "Current Trailers" or "Movie Trailers" or something.  A folder named exactly "trailers" has a special meaning to us and that may be throwing things off.

Hi,

I am having a problem with media server (version Version 3.0.5050.37565) where a phantom Trailers folder showing up. This second folder does not appear when viewed from mediabrowser classic. I have tried reinstalling the server and re-adding all the folders but the second trailer folder shows up again.

Below is an image of what the folder displays when you edit the metadata. I have tried the delete button but it says 'dont know how to delete Traliers'.

Any help would be appriciated.

Do you have an actual Trailers collection besides the Trailers Plugin?  The plugin will create a virtual collection called Trailers, which you won't be able to delete.

mboehler,

Yes, I have a folder on my server which contains trailers (downloaded with metabrowser). I do not have the trailer plugin installed.

Cheers

Just like goller, I'm in the exact same boat.  I used to have the Trailers plugin, up until it switched to streaming-only (so a long time ago).  I had that alongside my local trailers collection, which was always called "HD Trailers".  I was left with a phantom Trailers collection, so I thought I'd get clever and rename it to "Bad Trailers."  I got hoisted on my own petard when I was left with not just a phantom "BrokenTrailers" collection, but saw "Trailers" come back, seemingly to mock me.  I don't want to nuke everything I've got and start over, so any help is appreciated.

If it helps, I've tried removing the "HD Trailers" collection, leaving no "Trailers" collection types.

Attached is the most recent log file where I tried (in vain) to delete the "Broken Trailers" collection, again.  I didn't see anything useful in the tea leaves, not that I'm the most qualified to read those.

To add even more notes, I've tried reinstalling and removing the trailers plugin.  When it was reinstalled and refreshed, the trailers and broken trailers collections did update, so it must be a vestige of the plug-in.  I also created a "test" profile, but as you might expect those collections appeared under that profile as well.

sydlexius,

Like you I had the trailer plug-in install when MB3 first came out but moved to streaming trailers sometime ago. Totally starting from scratch won't help I am afraid, I have tried that and the phantom folder re-appears.

That's a stumper.  Perhaps @@Luke or @@ebr will be able to figure it out...

I can reproduce something that might be similar so I'll look at it throughout the week

If need be, I'd be happy to compile or install a debug build and/or grant remote access.

Not sure which commit contains the change, but the latest dev server build fixed the issue for me.  Thanks!

The most recent update of the nes and snes plugins has strangely fixed the problem. Stange as it might be I am not complaining.
