oldschool 16 Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 PLEASE send any of the files/folders deleted through the WebUI to the recycling bin on the server! I changed the name of a movie folder on the server, so when the Metadata manager refreshed, the folder/movie was listed twice. I clicked on the old one and deleted it, but for some reason it deleted the renamed folder and now that data is lost forever. It would be great to be able to restore that folder, but for whatever reason, MB3 decides to skip the recycling bin and do a permanent delete on the file. It would be a lot more helpful if I could empty the recycling bin myself and permanently delete the file and avoid any accidental deletions through the Metadata browser quirkiness.
ebr 16176 Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I believe we already do but this will depend on the capabilities of the target system (network drive).
oldschool 16 Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Hmmm, so you're saying that because MB3 is using UNC paths, and when I delete I don't have it "protected" through the recycling bin, then that's why it is deleting and not sending it to the recycling bin? If I use these instructions, are you saying that it will then recycle instead of delete?
Luke 42078 Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 @@oldschool Recycle bin support will be in Emby Server 4.1+: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/72089-41019-delete-to-recycle-bin Thanks. 1
