Unhandled exceptiom: only allows one usage of each socket address (protocol / network address / port)

Hi,

I have a problem with socket, after installation of the server, when I’m on the configuration page to choose what media I want to add. And now every time I try to run the server. I have the same problem after reboot and because the server configuration was not finished, the service is not configured to start automatically. Here is the message (I use a French version of W7):

Une seule utilisation de chaque adresse de socket (protocole/adresse réseau/port) est habituellement autorisée

In English :

Unhandled exceptiom: only allows one usage of each socket address (protocol / network address / port)

I have also tried before with my WHS 2011 server and got the same problem and tested if the same problem occurs with W7 after uninstall everything on the WHS 2011 server.

MB2 was never installed on the W7 computer.

Thanks for your help

Good day,

If you want to use the mb3 server service, then here some steps for that:

1 - From the dashboard - advanced menu - disable the option to restart the server at startup.

2 - Now go to services and look for mediabrowser, right click on it and chose properties.

- At the tab "log on" chose the option "This account" and put the name and password for your windows login account.

- At the recovery tab all 3 chose "restart the service"

- At General tab, the option "start up type" as automatic.

Click apply, ok then close the services.

Then chose

Now restart the PC.

My best

Thank you, I have made exactly what you say, but the service won’t start (I have tried few reboot).

When I go to services and try to manually start the Media Browser service, I have a 1053 error.

I have no Media Browser icon in the taskbar and if I run the program manually I have the same error as before (see the snapshot I have joined). If I let the error message open and don’t click on the OK button the server continue working, but if I click OK on the error message, the server stops working and the Media Browser task bar icon disappears.

I hope I’m clear. I’m not a newbie on MCE. My site www.media-center7.fr is the biggest MCE French site and I have made few articles about older versions of Media Browser...But here, I don't understand what’s wrong.

Thank you

Make sure Media Browser Server is not already running as an application when you try to start the Service.

I verified that MediaBrowser are not in the process before try to run again the MB service, but same thing as explained above: Error 1053.

Media Browser works only when I run the app and don’t click OK on the error message…Very strange !

A+

Hello zzdez, and long life in www.media-center7.fr
Strange, You have to Execute the app MediaBrowser as Administrator (right click, on the icon to the program).

Nice their V3, with publisher(editor) of integrated(joined) Metadata
MetaVideoEditor not working any more unfortunately, I looked and found this V3 of MediaBrowser

Hi Thilo...

After many tests and searches, I have finally found the program that causes the socket issue. It was a plugin called “MaConfig.com” that is used by a site to find drivers (touslesdrivers.com). If anyone has the same issue, just uninstall it in the windows uninstall panel.
