tvdb - 1 episode, but 2 different episode numbers

If you look at the series in the link above, you will notice that some episodes are listed as specials as well as an episode in a series.

Rather than have the episode in my collection, in 2 separate places, is there a way I can have these both listed in MB, but play from the same file?

With the current beta, it tells me I am missing the episode, because it is listed twice in tvdb

Since the episode name is the same on tvdb for both special and episode, you might be able to get it to work using a shortcut in the specials (season 0) folder.

Wasn't aware shortcuts worked. Must have missed that in one of the server updates

I wouldn't use a shortcut. There's nothing we can do about that. I would go over to tvdb forums and report the duplication so that they can clean it up.

The shortcut trick won't work anyway. It's going to point to the existing record so you'll still just have one episode number either way.
