jakesterpdx 0 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Something is completely messed up, and I'm tired of trying to troubleshoot it. I just want to start fresh - I'm sure that will fix it, because I installed MBS and MBC on another computer and it works fine, so it's something with the setup on this particular computer. It seems like MBS makes it pretty easy to completely wipe its settings - it offers when you uninstall it, but how do I do the same thing with MBC? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that definitely didn't do it.
porkbone 47 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 After uninstalling... for MBC, go into the ProgramData folder and delete the MediaBrowser-Classic folder. Then go into the appdata\Roaming and delete the same folder. for MBS, while in appdata/roaming delete the MediaBrowser-Server file. You might might want to keep the config folder just for the registration key. The cache file on my server took hours to delete. If you have a large library, be ready for that Hope this helps, jakesterpdx
bigjohn 753 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I just renamed the folders instead of deleting them so i could look and see what was different after the new install. You could also then continue with your install and configuration while you delete if you want to.
jakesterpdx 0 Posted December 24, 2014 Author Posted December 24, 2014 Thanks, I did that, but MBC still seems to "remember" lots of my settings. I've been a huge fan of MB for years, but I'm completely at a loss here. It works fine on one of my computers, and is totally hosed on another. The issue is that instead of showing the proper thumbnail image for each movie, it shows a screengrab from a few minutes into the movie.
Luke 42078 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 What do you see when you browse the web interface? If you see the same thing there then the issue resides with MBS and there is no need to reset anything with MBC.
jakesterpdx 0 Posted December 25, 2014 Author Posted December 25, 2014 It looks great in MBS, and it also looks great on my other computer. I'm stumped. I've spent hours on this, and so I've just about given up. I installed Plex and it's working beautifully.
AdrianW 1058 Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 The issue is that instead of showing the proper thumbnail image for each movie, it shows a screengrab from a few minutes into the movie. I had the same thing happen to me (at least with some of my movie posters). When your connected to MBC with an admin user - go into the configuration and move to the right-most tab "Advanced" - I'd played around with the "Image Sizes" settings which is what I think caused the thumbnails to be shown instead of posters. I fiddled around with those settings (specifically "Max Primary Image Width") and I got back the proper posters.
