cochize1 56 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Emby Server 4.10.2.0, Linux (Docker). When I edit a Series field (e.g. community rating) in the metadata editor and press Save, the value reverts within a second to the provider’s value. Locking the field keeps it. This used to work. The log shows why: every POST /emby/Items/<id> on a Series is followed ~0.1 s later by ProviderManager: RefreshItem Start, with no /Refresh request from the browser. It queries TheTVDB and TheMovieDb for the series, seasons and every episode, then overwrites unlocked fields. Saving a Movie triggers no refresh. A Series in a library with no internet providers is also refreshed, but nothing gets overwritten. “Automatically refresh metadata after initial import” is set to Never, so that setting doesn’t stop it. Is refresh-on-save intended in 4.10.2? Is there a setting to turn it off, or to keep unlocked fields I just edited? Sanitized log excerpt attached. emby-4.10.2-series-save-refresh-excerpt.txt
ebr 16988 Posted 57 minutes ago Posted 57 minutes ago Hi. Do you have NFO files but not allow saving to them?
Luke 43505 Posted 54 minutes ago Posted 54 minutes ago Hi, this only happens when changing the file order option on a series.
cochize1 56 Posted 47 minutes ago Author Posted 47 minutes ago @ebrYes, NFO saving is enabled on the library, and it works: Emby writes tvshow.nfo right after the save (modified time matches, and the file contains my value while the field is locked). The problem is that when for example i change the title or IMDB rating and hit save, I can see updated values in Emby dashboard and nfo file. But I dont even have to scan the library, just refreshing the page and it goes back to emby default pulled from tvdb/tmdb values. On the other hand, when I edit nfo file itself and scan the library, my custom values are saved. @LukeI didn’t change the file order option. I only edited the community rating and pressed Save, and the refresh still started. Could the editor be sending the series’ order value (empty vs. aired) on every save, so the server sees a change? These NFOs contain <displayorder>aired</displayorder>. I can post the request body of the save if that helps (but it happens on every manually changed tv show new or old, only manual edit to the nfo file i store with the media helps)
