DraconisMaximus 1 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Putting this here as there is no Premier specific thread. Premier seems to be authenticating purchase keys using the client devices (ie Web Browser) internet connection as opposed to the server's internet connection. This is arguably preferable since the server should not need to be communicating with emby.media directly and really shouldn't be required to have internet access at all after setup. The problem is that there is no memory of the activation. If you access your server using a client that cannot authenticate (like a sandboxed web browser or during an internet outage) the premier status is revoked until you log in again with one that can. The Premier subscription should only need to be activated once, and definitely should not require continuous activation.
ebr 16958 Posted 54 minutes ago Posted 54 minutes ago I'm afraid that strategy is just not workable as it is too easy to defeat. There has been a lot of discussion of this over the years. 6 hours ago, DraconisMaximus said: since the server should not need to be communicating with emby.media directly and really shouldn't be required to have internet access at all after setup. Unrelated but most of the server's features use the internet...
