suskerp 0 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago When listening to audiobooks through Emby on my iPhone over Bluetooth in my car, playback continues while Waze or Flitsmeister announces navigation instructions or traffic alerts. Emby doesn’t actually pause the audiobook, so I regularly miss parts of the narration. Other apps, such as Pocket Casts, handle this correctly using the same Bluetooth connection. Playback pauses during announcements and automatically resumes afterwards. Would it be possible for Emby to implement similar behaviour? Ideally: Pause playback when navigation or traffic alerts interrupt the audio. Automatically resume once the announcement finishes. Optionally rewind a few seconds when resuming. Make this configurable, since ducking is perfectly acceptable for music but not audiobooks. On iOS, Apple’s AVAudioSession.Mode.spokenAudio might be worth investigating. There’s a similar request for Android here: https://emby.media/community/topic/129467-pausing-audiobook-playback-when-google-maps-is-speaking/ Thanks!
