HolyGigi 13 Posted Monday at 05:02 PM Posted Monday at 05:02 PM As the title says, I ran into this issue today: trying to play any videos on my LG tv failed, with the play button simply not working. After a few tries, I did get an error in the TV app saying I need an Emby subscription to use it. As I have a lifetime sub, I checked it on my server and it looked ok. However /embypremiere did appear to load for a second. Once this was done, the Play button worked again on the TV and I no longer got the error. Any idea what might have caused this? And how I can prevent it in the future? The PC is almost always on, so it is not the case of the emby server not communicating with the license server in x days
Neminem 1958 Posted Monday at 05:24 PM Posted Monday at 05:24 PM I guess not with out logs. Internet shot down / DNS issue or what ever did not reach the emby license server.
Luke 43402 Posted Monday at 06:47 PM Posted Monday at 06:47 PM @HolyGigi Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
HolyGigi 13 Posted Tuesday at 03:30 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 03:30 PM Here is the server log, however, I think I know why this is happening: following Gamer's Nexus video on how LG TVs spy on us, I blocked the tv from the internet, and only allowed it to access the local emby server address. My guess is that the emby app on the tv wants to check the license , cant connect to the internet, and that's why I get the error. What IP(s) should I whitelist so that emby will function properly? embyserver.txt
Neminem 1958 Posted Tuesday at 03:35 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:35 PM I think you need to white list https://mb3admin.com Not sure if that is all that is needed. 1
Uncle_Frank 18 Posted Tuesday at 04:41 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:41 PM I would put that TV on a vlan and meshnet into emby.
