user24 423 Posted Saturday at 01:12 PM Posted Saturday at 01:12 PM Hi, from your (Mp3tag?) screenshot it looks like you have the Album Artist tag "Various Artists" correct, but there may be some other embedded tag discrepencies causing problems??? Have you tried checking View > Extended Tags in Mp3tag? This will show all tags, not just those in the side panel or selected column views (as per your screenshot). Also, if using Mp3tag, you could try using Tag Sources > MusicBrainz to match correct metadata and retag your audio files against their Album info: https://musicbrainz.org/release/ec523da4-8a20-4cef-9fe2-688a60499470 Then rescan the Album folder in Emby and see if the correct info updates in Emby. If that doesn't help - what does the metadata editor show in Emby for the tracks?
aknes 0 Posted Sunday at 09:29 AM Author Posted Sunday at 09:29 AM It is not Mp3tag, it is from Tag&Rename. All tags in the metadata editor in Emby are identical for all tracks aside from Artist and Title. The track numbers are correct. Please, note that others volumes of "Silent Dreams" are OK ( there are 7 vol.) On the first 3 "Albums" you can see "Various Artists" and others have artist named. Correct for Album would be "Various Arists". I have over 6000 albums here and some have the same problem. Re-scanning and refreshing metadata doesn't help.
user24 423 Posted Sunday at 10:41 AM Posted Sunday at 10:41 AM OK, it still sounds like an embedded metadata issue. If you want to PM the .mp3 files to me, I can take a quick look and see how they import into my Emby setup, and if I can spot any obvious problems. Otherwise, someone else (or Emby) may be able to suggest other things to try?
aknes 0 Posted Sunday at 02:44 PM Author Posted Sunday at 02:44 PM (edited) Thank you. Here are the files <files removed> I think that Emby should look into this problem. Edited yesterday at 02:13 AM by seanbuff attached files removed
Neminem 1955 Posted Sunday at 05:08 PM Posted Sunday at 05:08 PM @aknes you should delete them. And PM them to him. Posting them here might be ilegal.
user24 423 Posted Sunday at 11:41 PM Posted Sunday at 11:41 PM Yeah, perhaps a good idea to delete the public files. No need to PM them to me now because I have already downloaded them. Will update later on any findings...
aknes 0 Posted yesterday at 12:55 AM Author Posted yesterday at 12:55 AM Sorry. I don't know how to delete these files from the post. It doesn't show me that possibility.
user24 423 Posted yesterday at 05:48 AM Posted yesterday at 05:48 AM (edited) Hi again. Thanks for sending the files. Starting from the start again.... Your OP Tag&Rename first screenshot clearly shows that all Tracks (correctly) have the same Album and Album Artist in the embedded metadata tags, therefore I think Emby should be grouping all these tracks together as the one Album "Silent Dreams Vol.1" under the Album Artist "Various Artists". BUT your OP Emby second screenshot shows the Album (incorrectly) split by the individual Artists. This could typically be due to not having an Album Artist assigned and/or an unstructured library set up. BUT your Tag&Rename screenshot looks correct. So, some things to possibly check (step-by-step) are: embedded metadata library structure and what metadata fetchers are enabled what Emby shows in the metadata editor for the Tracks/Album if any MusicBrainz and/or Discogs mismatches may be causing problems rescanning (e.g.) Tracks/virtual Album/Album folder/parent Album Artist folder/other parent folders/whole Library removing the problem Album and testing it as a new Library (might help isolate the root-cause problem) renaming the problem Album folder (sometimes I have to do this - BUT only after checking everything above is correct) reinstalling Emby (last resort) I opened your files with Mp3tag (Extended Tags) and found only one additional "Compilation" tag on Track 01. Everything else appears to be as per your OP screenshot. Note: there is also no embedded Album Art in any of the Tracks. Then I rearranged the Mp3tag columns to match your Tag&Rename screenshot. Everything (apart from Compilation tag) appears to be the same: Then, without changing any embedded metadata at all (leaving no embedded Album art and the single Compilation Tag as it was) I set up a music test library with only this album. Library files structured like this: Emby structure set up like this: All other Emby library settings for the intital import were left as the standard default settings for all fetchers. The tracks imported as one "Various Artists" Album (without cover art - as expected): Therefore, based on the above testing, I don't think there are any problems with your embedded metadata because, even if I make no changes to your original uploaded files, the Album still imports into Emby as a single Album only, and does not split, based on track Artist. So (step-by-step) it must be something else??? Without me immediately going through all of the other bullet-points (which you can do for yourself and post any new info/screenshots you want to for more assistance) another question is: Have you been modifying the files after initial import and finding that some update correctly with the corrections and others do not - no matter what you do??? I also have a large music library with many 1000s of Albums. This has been a (random-uncommon-repeating) problem for me ever since Emby 4.9.2 (I think?) when Emby implemented virtual Album rescanning. So, after checking and eliminating all the obvious (bullet-point) options, I just add a sufffix to the problem Album folder so Emby sees it as new data and removes the old data. Just rescan at the parent-folder level above the renamed Album folder is usually sufficient. Perhaps some of the above is helpful for you? Please post an update on how you get on, if you find anything and solve it, or need more help... Edited yesterday at 05:52 AM by user24 1 1
Solution aknes 0 Posted yesterday at 09:20 AM Author Solution Posted yesterday at 09:20 AM Thank you so much. Renaming, scanning and renaming back helps. Youn are so trough and good.
aknes 0 Posted yesterday at 11:32 AM Author Posted yesterday at 11:32 AM It was solved by "User 24" not by aknes.
Luke 43374 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago 7 hours ago, aknes said: It was solved by "User 24" not by aknes. What changes did you make?2
aknes 0 Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago Rename the album in Tag&Rename, Scan of library files, and album was not devided anymore, so re-name it correctly back.
Luke 43374 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago On the names generally don’t matter. What probably did it is just renaming caused it to get fully removed from the database and then added back fresh.
aknes 0 Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago Yes. For some reason EMBY structures some albums for "Artist" not for "Album artist". It is software glitch. And once it is done these way it keep it and number of Re-scanning doesn't help. User 24 helped me to look at the problem different way. And it works.
