Obsidian21 1 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Hi, Over the last couple of months I would say, I've been having this issue where sporadically content that is directly playing, with all forms of transcoding disabled on the LAN will run into an error, mid playback where it will say "Playback Error - There was an error processing the request. Please try again later." I've attempted to replicate this on the media and I've found that it throws an error, just a few seconds before the chapter heading (roughly 57:44/45), however if I play from the beginning and then skip to the chapter (57:48) then it plays with no issues. I've had a look at the logs and couldn't make much sense of them. However, allowing changing of the video container format allows the video to play, however it goes from Direct Play to Direct Stream and says "recovering from playback error" please see screenshots 1 and 2 (ss1/ss2) below for examples from the dashboard. When the error occurs, there's a very visible loop, where the client can be seen to sort of resolve the error in realtime, it goes black, then plays the content again, then goes into the next scene. I'm confident if we disabled change of video format, the black screen would just end in the error being thrown again. First log file - disabled changing format, play content, scrub back 20 seconds, let it play, playback error shown at around 57:45) - (log file called SCENARIO 1) Second log file - enabled changing format, play content, scrub back 20 seconds, let it play, playback error not shown, scene repeated twice, then plays into subsequent scenes. This time, as I didn't have audio transcoding enabled, the audio also failed to play. I then enabled this, scrubbed back and let it play past the error point at which point audio played as expected. < Video is of this scenario Please let me know if there's anything else I need to include. Luke 43515 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 HI, it sounds like the player is having trouble with this particular file at that particular spot?
Obsidian21 1 Posted October 17 Author Posted October 17 Hi Luke, Playback was also tested on Windows, I also tested it on Android 3.5.55 - issue was not repeatable after 5/6 attempts in the same location on both clients.Windows log.txt Name: Emby Windows Version: 2.317.2.0 Windows log.txt

For this reason, this kind of issue is something that will vary from one device to another. so it’s always in the same spot?
Obsidian21 1 Posted October 17 Author Posted October 17 It's also happened somewhere later on in the movie, I can't remember where exactly. It also happens across numerous pieces of media, I believe ZSJL was also one, I've watched that thing plenty previously with no issues whatsoever, so it definitely came into the picture later down the line, possibly with an update? I know that's not much to go on lol
Obsidian21 1 Posted October 29 Author Posted October 29 Hi, sorry to pester - what's the latest on this please? @Luke To add to my previous post, this was never an issue with any media that I would rewatch (big nostalgia movie guy here) I'd say roughly 18 months ago definitively. I'd say these issues have properly occurred sporadically over the last 6-8 months. So before I'd watch Snyder's Justice League, no issues, but as of current then I will face some issues at times.
Obsidian21 1 Posted October 30 Author Posted October 30 Hi, Thanks for the fast response - no it now happens across a variety of media files, some of which it never used to happen on, Snyder's Justice League being one of them. I've done a hash check and the file integrity is fine.
